What is Cloudcom SMS?
Cloudcom SMS is an add-on for Google Sheets. It lets you send SMS messages to phone numbers you have stored in the sheet.
What can I use Cloudcom SMS for?
You can send SMS messages to anyone with a mobile phone. Most of our customers use it to send reminders, notifications or invitations. All messages have to be transactional. We may demand that you provide proof that you have the right to send sms to your recipients.
What countries can I send messages to?
You can send messages to almost every country on earth.
(Not to the US/CA due to their SMS messaging regulations and restrictions)

What is the character limit on a message?
For one message, the limit is 160 characters. If a message is longer than 160 characters, it will be broken up into several concatenated messages of 153 characters each. When it is delivered to a phone, it is displayed as one message.
If you use special characters, for example cyrillic, arabic or emoji, the limit is 70 characters for one message and 67 characters for concatenated messages.
Concatenated messages can be up to five ordinary messages long.
Are you really sending real SMS messages?
Yes.
Can the receiver respond to a message?
No. You have to include instructions on how to reply in the message.
E.g. a “reply to number” or include a link to a Google form where you collect answers.

How do I install Cloudcom SMS?
You can install Cloudcom SMS from the Google add-on store for spreadsheets by clicking here.
How do I uninstall Cloudcom SMS?
You can uninstall Cloudcom SMS by clicking “Add-ons” > “Manage add-ons” > “Manage” > “Remove” in a Google Sheet.
Usage
How do I use Cloudcom SMS?
Make sure that you have installed the add-on, then open it by clicking “Add-ons” > “Cloudcom SMS” > “Send SMS messages” in a Google Sheet.

How can I pick the phone numbers I want to send to?
Either by selecting them in the spreadsheet before opening the add-on, or by clicking the “Select phone numbers” button in the add-on.
Do I really need to provide phone numbers with a country code?
Yes, without the country code we do not know how to route your message.

How can I add a country code to a number?
Remove any leading zero from the phone number, and put the country code first. Like this:
- The number you want to change: 0733 123 456
- Remove the leading zero: 733 123 456
- Add the country code: 46 733 123 456
You don’t have to include a plus sign or anything else before the country code.
How can I add a country code to a lot of numbers?
The simplest way is to use the spreadsheet formula CONCAT. Use it like this in a spreadsheet cell:
=CONCAT(“46”; A1)??
Where 46 is the country code and A1 is the cell containing the phone number without a country code.
This works best if all numbers share the same country code. If the phone numbers are from different countries, you have to do a bit of manual work.
How can I correct invalid numbers?
Quit the add-on, find the invalid number in your spreadsheet, and correct it.?? The most common case is that the phone number is missing a country code.

Please let us know if you are sure the provided number is valid, so that we can fix it.
Were my messages delivered correctly?
Use the control panel to check delivery status?. We depend on the carriers to give us correct delivery information.
Why were you unable to deliver to some phone numbers?
The most common reason is that the phone has been turned off or without reception for an extended time (we keep trying to deliver the message for two full days).
In some countries messages get filtered, either because of the content of the message or because of carrier policy.
Can I change the sender name?
Yes, once you have added credits to your account at least once.
In some countries, we are restricted from displaying custom sender names. Contact us to learn more about your specific country.

How much does Cloudcom SMS cost?
The add-on is free, but you pay for the messages you want to send. You can add credits to your account in the control panel.

What is a credit?
A credit is a unit we use to make it easier to display the cost of a message.
We charge one credit per concatenated message. For more information on message length, check out “What is the character limit on a message?“.
When using the add-on, you can review the approximated cost before sending.

Privacy
What data do you save?
We save some information to be able to provide a better service. For example your e-mail address is stored, as well as your message history and transaction history.
We only save this data so that you can review sent messages, transactions and get delivery statistics.
We do not store credit or debit card information.
We will never sell your data.
If you violate our policy, we will disclose the information requested by the notifier.
